expiation ✤ coordinator's shop
The store appeared in Aldrip overnight, but you'd be excused for not noticing it immediately. It's a simple, unimpressive, two-stories building that could easily be mistaken for a warehouse. Above the main entrance, there is a fairly small, hand-made sign that says "Coordinator's Shop" in a pretty, flowing handwriting. There aren't any fancy decorations or displays that would advertise whatever wares are being sold here, and no windows to peer through. On the door, you will find a handwritten card that says either "Open ♥" or "Sorry, we're closed ★" that indicates the status of the shop.
By walking inside, the characters will have to follow a dimly lit corridor, until they finally arrive at an open space with the back wall replaced with giant stained glass. In the room, there are some pieces of furniture, such as sofas, armchairs, chairs, lamps and plant pots, all of which are completely different from one another and mismatched, adding to a somewhat eerie atmosphere.

It isn't long until Mitama appears from around the corner, dressed in her magical girl attire, and addresses the guest in a singsong tone.
" Welcome~ Are you here for an adjustment? "
OOC: FAQ
What is this whole "adjustment" thing all about?
That sounds sketchy... Are there no downsides or side-effects to it?
Okay, but what will it cost my character to receive adjustment?
My character would like to receive an adjustment, but they can't afford it!
Can I handwave my character receiving the adjustment?
I still have more questions!

OOC: FAQ
What is this whole "adjustment" thing all about?
Mitama's personal magic allow her to strengthen the abilities of other people and enhance their powers, as well as unlock any potential skills and latent talents! She does so by reaching into a person's soul and, well, doing her magic directly on it.
To put it in RPG terms, think of it as increasing the character's stats and/or unlocking new abilities as they level up. What exactly can be affected is pretty much case-by-case and you're welcome to take your own spin on it depending on the character's abilities! It could be as simple as their attacks doing more damage, their spells being faster and consuming less mana to cast, the skills that would normally leave them drained after usage requiring less effort... The only limit is that it should be kept within reason without causing any of the abilities to become game-breaking!
That sounds sketchy... Are there no downsides or side-effects to it?
There certainly are! The procedure is shown to be uncomfortable at best and somewhat painful at worst, which makes sense, considering it involves Mitama literally touching a person's soul. Additionally, while performing adjustment, Mitama will see some of the person's memories; that side-effect is something she doesn't have any control over, and she usually doesn't tell her clients about it unless absolutely necessary, keeping all the information she gains that way to herself... most of the time. That power will be considered to be opt-in only for the purposes of the game, so she won't be seeing any of your character's memories without the player's consent to prevent godmodding! If you'd prefer your character wasn't affected by this side-effect, that's perfectly fine; we'll just chalk it up to ~magic~ and all.
Okay, but what will it cost my character to receive adjustment?
For most part, money! Cold, hard cash. I won't be micromanaging the prices of Mitama's services or anything, just keep in mind they're pretty expensive. Just use your best judgement when determining how many adjustment sessions your character can afford; chances are that a person without a steady job that pays really well won't be able to afford multiple sessions a month, unless...
My character would like to receive an adjustment, but they can't afford it!
Fear not! Mitama is willing to consider each case individually, and money isn't the only thing she's after, so it's possible to negotiate a different method of paying her back. In particular, she will be looking for people who could help her hunt down monsters to keep their population in check and keep the town safe. But if your character isn't a fighter, there are other things they could offer her, too! Really, they could promise to do her chores for her for a week and she'd probably go for it. The sky's the limit, so if your character wants to negotiate, it's their time to shine!
Can I handwave my character receiving the adjustment?
Absolutely! There's no need to thread out the adjustment itself, especially if the characters will be coming back for repeated sessions. If you'd like to handwave the interaction but still have Mitama see some of your character's memories, feel free to leave an OOC note here to let me know about the latter or contact me on plurk/discord (see below). I'd be grateful if you let me know that your character frequents Mitama's shop just so I can keep in mind who her clients are!
I still have more questions!
No problem! Feel free to contact me on plurk (psychelocks), discord (psychelocks) or the game's server with any other questions you might have or if you want to plot anything related to Mitama's shop and services.
